"2021 saw the public unveiling of Ever Brighter: The University of Miami’s Campaign for Our Next Century, which aims to raise $2.5 billion by 2025. As part of the rollout, a dynamic anthem video was developed to galvanize a rich base of alumni, donors, faculty/staff, grateful patients, students, and friends of the U. The video is a rallying cry and captures the excitement of the campaign while demonstrating the breadth and impact of the work done across the University.   

A tapestry of exciting clips from around the university’s 12 schools and colleges was interwoven with glimpses into the U’s various athletics programs and academic medical system, along with environmental pieces that capture the essence of Miami. The video is narrated by Jon Secada, double alumnus and Grammy Award-winning recording artist, whose rich voice draws the viewer toward an inspiring vision of the impact that this campaign will have, not only on the university’s future, but that of our community, medicine and the sciences, and beyond.  

The video was shown at internal meetings to excite faculty and staff, various athletics events (including the Miami Hurricanes’ homecoming game), external volunteer meetings to inspire our greatest advocates, and commencement to empower our newest alumni and proud parents.  

In the end, we reached nearly 57,000 ’Canes across in-person and virtual events in the first two months of site launch (November-December 2021). The accompanying social campaign, running over the same period and utilizing #everbrighter, reached nearly 1 million constituents online."

From the Judges

Our panel enjoyed this video. The many people narrating made it feel natural and unscripted. The theme was clever and carried throughout the video. The music made the video feel more global. This entry was inspiring, clear, and concise, and produced applause-worthy results.
