William graduated with a bachelor's degree in environmental science in 2019 followed by a master's degree in international development in 2021 from University of The Sunshine Coast. During his studies, he cultivated a strong passion for development-centred thinking with an ambition of bridging humanities and sciences to effectively address global issues.  

These ambitions lead him to work alongside a wide range of development-orientated organisations, notably Reforest Africa, Australian Centre for Pacific Island Research, and undertaking his thesis on sustainable community-based tourism in Ternate, Indonesia. These formative experiences have consolidated his drive to explore how science-based initiatives can translate to positive environmental and human-centred outcomes.
