Solving the Math Problem: Sustaining Alumni Giving Growth through Collaboration
In the past 3-years prior to launching a comprehensive capital campaign, Virginia Tech nearly doubled current use annual giving dollars, and grew the alumni giving rate at nearly 10% CAGR (compound annual growth rate). Hear the story from the Leadership and Annual Giving office on how we are accelerating that growth in the public phase of our campaign. You'll learn how to leverage institutional leadership and build truly collaborative delivery teams across all advancement disciplines to sustain growth in the alumni giving participation rate. It starts with solving the math problem and communicating what success looks like across alumni relations, communications and marketing, and development across all colleges and programs.
Revitalizing Your Phonathon Program
The relevance of phonathon programs has been hotly debated in recent years. Some swear they are on death's door, while other contend they are still a vital component of any annual giving program. Which is it? Northern Illinois University (NIU) recognized that while its phonathon's production had fallen precipitously that it still had an important role to play within University Advancement. In this session, hear how NIU rebranded their Huskie Telefund into the Huskie Engagement Center. In doing so, the phone center pivoted from strictly "tele-fundaising" to full-blown engagement, including event recruitment calls, care calls for new grads, thank you calls, texting, and income-producing survey calls for university clients. The rebrand facilitated an increase in revenue while reducing its budget by over 30%.
