The Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) is a nonprofit membership association serving educational institutions and the advancement professionals who work on their behalf in alumni relations, communications, development, marketing, and allied areas. CASE supports its members through research, professional development, events, and services designed to strengthen relationships with alumni, donors, and other stakeholders and to advance education worldwide. 

CASE is committed to protecting your personal information and using it responsibly, lawfully, and transparently. Personal information is any data that identifies you or can reasonably be linked to you.  

We follow globally recognized privacy principles, including:

  • Purpose limitation and data minimization
  • Accuracy and security
  • Accountability and governance
  • Explainability and oversight for AI-driven processing  

We also ensure that any use of artificial intelligence (AI) or automated systems aligns with our ethical standards and includes appropriate human oversight. 

We may collect personal information directly from you or through your interaction with CASE, including: 

  • Contact information (name, email, phone, organization, role)
  • Membership and account details
  • Event registration and participation data
  • Volunteer activity data
  • Payment and transaction information
  • Communications with CASE

CASE uses personal information to:

CASE offers postal mailing lists for rent to third parties. On occasion, we may send email communications to our members on behalf of external organizations or individuals.

Yes, you can opt out of submitting certain types of personal information to CASE. However, certain categories of the data that we collect, referred to as functional data, are necessary for CASE to perform its basic functions in a secure way and you will not be able to opt out.

You can always contact our Member Support team and request that your data be deleted. Please note, however, that by deleting your personal information your will be unable to receive the benefits or membership, purchase CASE products, or participate in CASE events.

No. Credit card information is tokenized within CASE systems and not stored except for the last 4 digits.
