Become a Host Institution
The CASE Advancement Internship seeks to broaden the pipeline and enhance diversity among future educational advancement professionals. This internship experience is designed to attract undergraduates, graduate students, and recent grads of diverse lived experiences who have the aptitude and skills to serve the profession but may not have previously considered a career in the educational advancement sector.
Since 2016, more than 650 interns from the US/Canada have had the opportunity to explore a career in advancement while obtaining hands-on advancement experience and professional development. Moreover, sixty percent of participants have been students of diverse lived experiences.
Hosts Provide
- An eight-week summer internship (June 3-July 26, 2024) during which time the advancement intern will undertake assignments and projects that will develop their core advancement skills and help them to develop professionally.
- A designated staff person who will be both the intern's and CASE's main point of contact at the host site.
- A mentor at their host institution to guide their exploration of a career in advancement
Fees
The fee to participate is $2600 (US) fee per intern plus intern stipend or hourly wage (determined by institution).
The CASE participation fee covers associated costs of the internship including the intern’s travel expenses to Washington, DC for the three-day CASE Advancement Internship Conference. Should the conference be virtual due to the pandemic, we will adjust the fee.
Hosts have the flexibility of providing a $5,000 stipend that is paid to CASE and then distributed to the intern or setting up compensation directly through the institution. Should you elect this option, CASE will distribute wirelessly payment to the intern during Week 4 and Week 8 of the internship. Europe hosts will pay their intern(s) directly.
Consider giving a student at your institution a summer of a lifetime exploring a career in advancement while doing meaningful work that will impact your institution! If you are interested in becoming a host, please contact Robyn Neeley, Director of Talent Management, at [email protected].
