Lindsay Nyquist
Lindsay Nyquist has held continually evolving positions during her time at Fort Lewis College, a small public four-year institution in Durango, Colorado. She now oversees the Marketing & Communications Department, including web, social media, video, design, writing, and community and media relations. However, her passion is social media education—empowering college constituents and community members to use social media confidently and strategically. She holds a BA in English, communication, and art and an MS in higher education administration and enrollment.

Tony Dobies
As the Senior Director of Marketing at West Virginia University, Tony Dobies has positioned the University as a leader in creative marketing and social media. He is a vocal advocate for new and innovative approaches to marketing in higher education and has spoken at numerous national conferences on the importance of social media in marketing and communications. At WVU, he leads a team of talented social media managers, market researchers, advertisers, marketing strategists, brand and trademark licensing experts. Together with his team, he designs and manages marketing projects and initiatives to help reach the University's highest goals, especially in regard to recruitment. In 2015, he was named a "30 under 30 Rising PR Star" by PR News. He graduated from WVU in 2009 with a bachelor's degree in journalism and again in 2017 with a master's degree in integrated marketing communications.
Anna Fisher-Pinkert
Anna Fisher-Pinkert is an award-winning digital producer and communications strategist. Anna is currently the Senior Digital Content Producer at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. Previously, she was the host/producer of Veritalk, a podcast from the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences at Harvard University, for which she won a CASE Gold Circle of Excellence award in 2019. She also hosted and produced a public affairs radio program, Commonwealth Journal, at UMass Boston. Prior to working in higher education communications, Anna began her career making multimedia for science and history museums across the country. She attended the Salt Institute for Documentary Studies in 2010, and her love of expert-driven content led her to work at WBUR, BackStory with the American History Guys, and WGBH's NOVA. Anna is passionate about bringing the best of audio storytelling to the field of higher education communications.

Johnny Andrews
Johnny Andrews is a photographer and videographer for the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He returned to his alma mater after nearly two decades as a staff photojournalist for several newspapers including The Seattle Times, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, The (Raleigh) News & Observer and the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. He prides himself on making a personal connection with whomever he meets and enjoys the conversations just as much as making the actual image. Andrews also worked for several years as a photo editor for Microsoft while continuing to pursue personal projects. He is a strong proponent of finding what you’re passionate about and channeling that energy into your work. The Atlanta native has had his photo and video work recognized with numerous awards including a Racial Justice Fellowship from the University of Southern California’s Annenberg Institute for Justice and Journalism.

Guest Speakers
Geoff Coyle
Geoff Coyle serves as Senior Social Media Editor for University Relations at West Virginia University. In this role, Geoff works to promote the University's message and image for prospective students, current students, and alumni through digital platforms.
In addition to content creation and strategic planning for WVU's social media marketing, Geoff also develops the social media strategy for presidential communications and marketing on Dr. Gordon Gee's accounts.
Prior to joining the team at WVU, Geoff worked in sports television for West Virginia Illustrated, gaining experience as a host and reporter for various network broadcasts. He continues to dabble in the sports realm as a freelance camera operator.
A Maryland native, Geoff graduated from the Perley Isaac Reed School of Journalism at West Virginia University.
David Ryan
David Ryan is the Social Media and Internet Strategist at West Virginia University's Health Sciences schools. In that position, he is responsible for help shaping the social and web presences for the schools of Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Public Health and Dentistry, as well as the main Health Sciences umbrella. In his duties he manages the social of the Health Sciences itself, as well as its Vice President Clay Marsh.
In his role, he is responsible for creating video and photo materials that reflect the mission of the health schools and their impact on West Virginia. He is responsible for photos and videos, including series that showcase expertise and offer the public insight into a new avenue of research, or basic health tips.
He is also part of WVU's main social media team, lending a creative and web-focused eye on upcoming projects.
David graduated from West Virginia University in 2009 and 2011 with degrees in news editorial journalism and creative writing, and recently completed his master's degree in Integrated Marketing Communications.
