Bio

As senior director of Michigan’s Office of University Development (OUD) and the Alumni Association (AAUM), Eun Ja Yu travels the world — from Hong Kong to Mumbai — engaging international alumni with the university.

She collaborates with colleagues and University of Michigan’s 19 schools, colleges and units to plan, manage and coordinate all aspects of the University's international alumni relations and alumni communications efforts. She is the primary representative of the university outside the United States. She contributes to the growth of U-M’s international alumni engagement and fundraising program building strong relationships in Greater China, India, and Europe, South Korea, Japan, Hong Kong and Singapore, among other countries. Now in her role she engages with friends and supporters around the world who are eager to reconnect with U-M, building communities and a culture of philanthropy.

Prior to joining the university, Eun Ja spent time in the private sector working for J.D. Power, Millward Brown, and Fifth Third Bank. Since then, she has been at the university for 21 years and began her U-M career at the Stephen M. Ross School of Business in the Executive Education Center managing executive development programs in Ann Arbor, Hong Kong, Brazil, Singapore and India. She also managed the Industry Relations Team at the Ross Career Development Office developing and maintaining relationships with financial services companies and created and executed strategic planning and outreach processes. For the final seven years at Ross, Eun Ja served as an Associate Director of the Full-Time MBA Admissions developing and targeting recruiting strategies in Asia, Africa, Oceana, and all over the U.S., eventually finding her true passion working with international alumni. She graduated from the University of Michigan with a BA in Psychology
