What does the Regional Program Committee do?
The Regional Program Committee seeks to provide professional development opportunities throughout the District. Committees have been established in Connecticut, Massachusetts, Northern New England, Rhode Island and Eastern Canada.
What is the volunteer opportunity?
The Regional Program Committee member actively participates with their committee and committee chair to seek out those professional development opportunities that best serve their community and region.
What are the responsibilities?
Identify the needs of your region/community
Identify topics of interest for professional development
Identify networking opportunities
Identify and recruit speakers and panelists for programs
Secure event logistics, including venue, catering and AV needs
Promote the event to the broad CASE community working with the CASE DI office
Meet and greet at the events and seek feedback from the members
Create a summary blog post for the event and submit to the DI website and social media

The Regional Program Committee Chair oversees the structure, content, promotion and logistics of professional development and networking events in CASE District I.
What are the responsibilities?
Serve as a liaison to the CASE DI Board’s Regional Program Chair
Recruit a diverse group of committee members from your region/community
Work with your committee to:
Identify the needs of your region/community
Identify topics of interest for professional development
Identify networking opportunities
Identify and recruit speakers and panelists for programs

Promote the event to the broad CASE community working with the CASE DI office

The DI Community College Committee seeks to develop a sustainable relationship between CASE and the DI Community College sector by determining their unique needs and providing programming and professional development to address those needs.
What is the volunteer opportunity?
The Community College Chair promotes and engages the community college sector within the DI region. Community College Committee positions are new to DI. Members would work with the chair to engage non-member DI community colleges and to develop programming, networking and professional development opportunities for current members.
What are the responsibilities?
Identify topics of member interest for professional development and networking for the community college (and small shop) sector.
Secure event logistics, including venue, catering, AV needs.
Reach out and develop relationships with non-member DI Community Colleges, determine factors that may lead them to become members.
What does the Opportunity & Inclusion Committee do?
The Opportunity and Inclusion (O&I) Committee, co-chaired by two members of the CASE District I Board, serves to create, advocate and facilitate diversity programming throughout the district. O&I endeavors to do so by embedding committee members in various subcommittees of the board including the district conference, scholarships, regional programming, etc. O&I also serves to welcome new professionals of diverse backgrounds to the district and/or the profession.
What is the volunteer opportunity?
Members will serve on subcommittees of the board and as such, roles and responsibilities will differ by committee, as will timeline for each of the subcommittee’s responsibilities.
What are the responsibilities?
O&I Committee members will serve on committees including, but not limited to, the district conference committee, the district scholarship review committee, regional programming committees, etc.
Members will advocate for O&I principles as part of the work of each board committee.
Members may serve on board committees for the duration of their O&I Committee service.
The Scholarship Committee reviews the applications for a variety of scholarships offered for CASE learning experiences including the District I Annual Conference, CASE Summer Institutes, and the CASE ASAP Conference. The purpose of the scholarships is to support advancement professionals, particularly those who are new to the field, who want to expand their knowledge but whose institution may not be in the position to send them to CASE conferences.
What is the volunteer opportunity?
The Scholarship Committee needs volunteers to review applications for the scholarships and determine who should receive them.
What are the responsibilities?
Read and evaluate applications based on scholarship criteria
Discuss the merits of applications with fellow committee members and make award recommendations
Applications are reviewed in the winter and spring
Applications are distributed by email and reviews are conducted via conference call
