Mona Chalabi
Mona Chalabi is a journalist who really loves numbers. She is the data editor of The Guardian where she writes articles, produces documentaries, and illustrates, as well as animates, data. After analyzing statistics for the United Nations, Mona saw how important data was, but also how easily it could be used by people with their own specific agendas. Since then, her work for organizations like Transparency International and The Guardian has had one goal: to make sure as many people as possible can find and question the data they need to make informed decisions about their lives. Mona has a master’s degree in International Security from the Paris Institute of Political Studies and has worked for FiveThirtyEight, the Banks of England, the Economist Intelligence Unit, and the International Organization for Migration. Mona lives in New York City.
Soren Kaplan
Soren Kaplan is the bestselling and award winning author of Leapfrogging and The Invisible Advantage, an Affiliate at the Center for Effective Organizations at USC’s Marshall School of Business, a writer for FastCompany and Inc. Magazine, a globally recognized keynote speaker, and the Founder of InnovationPoint and upBOARD. He has been recognized by the Thinkers50 as one of the world’s top thought leaders in business strategy and innovation. As a leading expert in disruptive innovation, innovation culture, and business model innovation, he works with Disney, NBCUniversal, Kimberly-Clark, Colgate-Palmolive, Hershey, Red Bull, and numerous other organizations. He holds Master’s and Ph.D. degrees in organizational psychology, resides in the San Francisco Bay Area, and possesses dual US-French citizenship.
Terry Lyles
Terry Lyles’ work is focused on teaching groups of all ages how to navigate life’s storms and difficult situations through stress utilization and work/life balance training. Terry has spent his life measuring and studying human performance. He holds a Ph.D. in psychology, has conducted extensive research in sports science, and is an expert in biotelemetry and psycho-telemetry. Perhaps the greatest teacher has been Terry’s own personal experiences: He has voluntarily placed himself into emotionally intense environments and situations like supporting fire-rescue workers and international forensic medical teams. Terry has spent the past 20 years working with a diverse group of clientele in extreme settings, and has trained hundreds of individuals with his time-tested, scientifically measured approach to stress utilization.
Maya Van Wagenen
Maya Van Wagenen is a 21-year-old award-winning author living in Georgia. Her first book, Popular, published by Dutton, Penguin Random House, debuted on the New York Times Bestseller List when she was fifteen. This memoir chronicled Maya’s eighth-grade adventures in a U.S.-Mexican border town as she followed the advice of an outdated 1950s popularity guide. Months before its official release, the book garnered critical acclaim earning her a spot on TIME Magazine’s “The Sixteen Most Influential Teens of 2013” and Huffington Post’s “The Thirteen Most Fearless Teens of 2013.” In 2015 Maya’s book won the American Library Association’s YALSA Award for Excellence in Nonfiction, making her the youngest author and first memoirist to receive this honor. Maya is currently editing her next manuscript for Dutton, scheduled for release in spring of 2021.
