Allyship is a practice that is critical in the fight for social justice and in closing equity gaps that permeate every facet of our socialized societies. Building capacity, fostering authentic relationships, having a support system, and ensuring accountability are key pillars to helping individuals sustain their commitment through apathy, setbacks, and more. This session is designed to assist participants in their lifelong practice of allyship evolving into a personal advocacy mission.

When Staying Silent Is No Longer the Answer: Moving from a Bystander to an Upstander
What do you do when your donor makes an inappropriate comment… How do you respond? How do you approach your supervisor who continues to devalue the comments of your colleague who is a person of a different lived experience… Do you respond? Creating inclusive and diverse work environments requires upholding values that move an employee from a bystander to an upstander.
