Make the CASE to Register

Thank you for your interest in DRIVE/Cast 2021.
During this online series, you will explore the latest in advancement-related data and analytics, review best-in-class content, and meet with solutions providers who are leading the charge in transforming data into action.
Sometimes it is not up to you to decide if you can register. Aside from financial considerations, professional development training could conflict with work responsibilities.
Below are tips and a sample justification letter intended to help you justify to your supervisor why you should register for DRIVE/Cast 2021.
4 Tips to Help Make the CASE
- Emphasize the specific topics and skills you would like to strengthen or develop. Connect the projects you are working on and areas you are trying to develop with specific presentations. If you have participated in a CASE educational event before, highlight how the program benefited your work.
- Show that you are conscious of the budget and will take advantage of the early registration rate.
- Identify colleagues from your institution who would benefit from attending. Register three or more from your institution at the same time online and receive a $55 discount on each.
- Offer to take detailed notes and prepare and deliver a short presentation, or ongoing training, for colleagues. That way others in your organization will benefit from your participation.

Why You Need to Attend DRIVE/Cast 2021
The past year has been filled with challenges, moments of reflection, and important opportunities for learning and change. Public and private institutions, large and small, rapidly shifted to remote operations, adopted new solutions, and experimented with different types of remote activities and online programs to maintain connectivity, engagement, and business continuity. Now, with hopefully increased understanding and resilience, we can move forward toward creating brighter moments in 2021.
This year marks the 10th anniversary of DRIVE/. Since 2011, DRIVE/ has guided thousands of professionals in capturing, managing, and analyzing data to gain insight, produce better outcomes, identify efficiencies, and achieve their institutional missions.
DRIVE/ is one of my favorite conferences. It brings together global experts who share knowledge on a range of data topics, including analytics, visualization, management, governance, artificial intelligence, and so much more. We discuss the latest strategies, success stories, and advanced technological approaches to working effectively with data.
As chair of this year’s conference, I invite you and your colleagues to participate in DRIVE/Cast 2021 on April 15, 21, and 27. For the first time, DRIVE/Cast will be presented as an online series. I’m excited this new online series schedule and format with flexible on-demand options will expand participation, especially for busy professionals.
If we continuously learn how to use technology and data for decision support, I believe we can accelerate the generation of novel solutions to familiar problems as we work to advance education to transform lives and society.
Grab early bird prices through March 19. Register three or more on the same order and save an additional $55 off each registration.
Sincerely,
Rodger Devine

I still remember my first time attending DRIVE/ in Seattle back in 2014. I was new to the field of development and was elated to discover that there were others who believed in the power of data and analytics to drive better decision making in educational advancement. I spoke with fellow newbies as well as seasoned veterans and came away with a stronger understanding of a range of issues and a rolodex of contacts, many of whom I stay in touch with to this day.
Since that first experience, I have attended numerous CASE DRIVE/ conferences and have had the privilege of presenting at them as well. The beauty of DRIVE/ is that, unlike many others, it is not focused on just a single functional area of advancement. From leveraging AI and Machine Learning to enhance prospect research to telling a fundraising campaign story through well-designed data visualizations, the conference covers an eclectic mix of subjects spanning boundaries that all too often limit our ability to collaborate most effectively with others in our advancement divisions.
This year’s CASE DRIVE/Cast online conference will be held in April, and I hope you will join us.
I am confident you will find value in hearing from experts, staying abreast of the latest developments in our field, and meeting like-minded professionals.
