CASE Council for Europe Search for New Members
About the CASE Council for Europe
CASE is seeking candidates from member institutions to step forward for election to the CASE Council for Europe this summer. The Council is responsible for overseeing the implementation of CASE's strategy and member engagement across Europe. Each Council member is appointed to a three-year term of office, and can serve a maximum of two terms. There are two meetings of the Council a year, held at different locations in Europe. Between meetings, Council members support the CASE Europe region in a variety of ways, guiding the implementation of strategic priorities and acting as advocates for CASE's work.

The Council aims to represent the breadth of CASE member institutions and bring together perspectives from diverse lived experiences. In preparation for the search for new members, we have mapped the experience and demographics of existing members who will continue to serve on the Council, in order to identify gaps. Among the continuing Council members, none are aged under 40, two-thirds are female and a minority are from a Black, Asian or minority ethnic background. All members hold experience of leading fundraising and alumni relations activities, but fewer have led communications/marketing activities at an institutional level. The majority of members are from the UK. We would value more experience of working in small/specialist institutions.
Call for Expressions of Interest
We seek expressions of interest from any CASE member with experience of managing fundraising, alumni relations, communications or marketing activities. Candidates must have a strategic outlook and be committed to guiding CASE’s mission: "As a catalyst for advancing education worldwide, we inspire, challenge, and equip communities of professionals to act effectively and with integrity to champion the success of their institutions."
To help us make the Council representative of members, we would especially welcome interest from candidates who hold any of the following experience or personal characteristics:
- Work in a school
- Work in a small or specialist institution with a team of fewer than 50 people covering the fundraising, alumni relations, communications and marketing remit
- Work in a university and are responsible for marketing (including corporate/branding, student recruitment marketing, web/digital, B2B marketing team), domestic or international student recruitment, widening participation or global engagement.
- Located in Continental or Northern Europe
- Aged under 40
- Are from a Black, Asian or minority ethnic background
- Have a disability
Please submit your expression of interest by Monday 6 March.
We will follow up with all respondents over the next two months. The Council will determine a shortlist of candidates who will be invited to step forward for election in June.
