Bio

Barbara-Jan Wilson is Vice President for University Relations Emerita, Wesleyan University, Middletown CT. She retired from Wesleyan in 2019 after 36 years where she was appointed Vice President in 1999. She also served as Dean of Admission and Financial Aid from 1990-1999 and as Director of Career Planning and Associate Dean of the College from 1982-1990.  Previously  she worked at Williams College, the Ethel Walker School and in the Vermont public schools. She graduated from the University of Connecticut with a Bachelors and Masters in English, magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa. 

Under her leadership admission applications doubled and she spearheaded two major campaigns, helping to raise over $900 million for Wesleyan.  She was awarded the Baldwin Prize, Wesleyans most prestigious award, for her outstanding service to the University.

She is currently on the Board of Trustees at Colby Sawyer College in New London, NH.  She has three children, three grandchildren and lives with her husband and dog in Chester CT.
