We designed the O-Heart-I-O heart health campaign to help Buckeye fans everywhere live healthier lives. Ohio outpaces the U.S. in many major risk factors for heart disease and stroke, including blood pressure, obesity, tobacco use and physical inactivity. The partnership of The OSU College of Nursing, Office of the Chief Wellness Officer, Buckeye Wellness, Learfield/IMG College, Buckeye football, The OSU Marching Band, the National Forum for Heart Disease & Stroke Prevention and the Ohio Mayors Alliance encouraged fans to know their numbers and take action to decrease their cardiovascular risk. The content and design of our campaign was driven by a modification of the iconic O-H-I-O cheer to make the campaign both relevant and memorable. A custom O-Heart-I-O branding graphic gave life and consistency to all visual aspects of the campaign.

What a great way to educate alumni and the public about such a critically important issue--but framed in such a way that it does not seem preachy. This is literally a life-saving campaign. The strength of the materials and the breadth of the messaging and outcomes were all brilliantly conceived and put together. We can't say enough good things about this entry. Great way to get the word out to the masses with a very simple message that people could incorporate immediately. Nice use of mixed media! Considering the outreach, the budget was quite reasonable. It is an excellent campaign that can be a wonderful blueprint, including marketing materials, interviews, videos, and game day programs. This was so good on so many levels, and what a collaborative effort.
