    CASE membership will vote on the following volunteer leaders to fill open positions on the CASE Board of Trustees, Regional Councils, and District Cabinets. New trustees will begin their terms on 16 July 2023. New Council and Cabinet members will begin their terms on 1 July 2023.

    TRUSTEES

    ARMIN AFSAHI

    Armin Afashi

    Vice President, Alumni Relations and Development
    University of Chicago

    3-year term

    Armin Afsahi was appointed Vice President for alumni relations and development at the University of Chicago in April 2023. He was previously the Associate Vice President of Alumni Affairs and Development (AA&D) and Dean of Development for the Faculty of Arts and Sciences (FAS) at Harvard University (2019-23). 

    Prior to joining AA&D, he held senior roles in advancement at multiple universities including the University of Denver (2015-19), UC San Diego (2007-15), and Georgetown University (2005-07), respectively. Afsahi has served on national and local boards and held volunteer leadership roles for both nonprofit and professional organizations. He holds a BA in communications from UC San Diego and an MBA from the University of San Diego.

     

     

    BARBARA DICK

    Barbara Dick

    Assistant Vice President, Alumni Relations, University of Toronto
    3-year term

    Barbara Dick has been the Assistant Vice President, Alumni Relations at the University of Toronto since July 2011, having previously served as the Executive Director, Alumni Affairs (2007-11). In 2019, Barbara was recognized with the Chancellor’s Award for Influential Leaders as part of the University of Toronto’s Awards of Excellence program. She has a BA in Political Science from the University of Toronto.

     

     

     

     

    LEE FERTIG

    Lee Fertig

    Head of School
    Nueva School

    3-year term

    Lee is currently the Head of School at Nueva School in the San Francisco Bay Area. He has more than 30 years of school leadership and teaching experience in a wide variety of educational settings including five international schools (in Ethiopia, Brazil, Spain, and Belgium), an independent school in New York City, and a voluntary integration public magnet school in Minneapolis. Lee is a trainer for the Principals’ Training Center (PTC), has taught in the College of Education at the University of Minnesota, and is a guest speaker on contemporary educational issues at a wide variety of community events. He provides consulting services for schools and educational organizations around the world in the areas of governance, development and fundraising, learning innovation, and school-based continuous improvement.

    Lee is a former trustee of the Association for the Advancement of International Education (AAIE), the Global Issues Network (GIN), and the Sao Paulo Education Foundation (SPEF).


     

    BINTI HARVEY

    Binti Harvey

    Vice President, External Relations & Institutional Advancement, Scripps College
    3-year term

    Binti Harvey is the vice president for external relations and institutional advancement for Scripps College, a role she’s held since 2018. She previously served Scripps as Vice President for Marketing and Communications (2015-18) and Chief Marketing and Communications Officer (2014-15). Prior to joining Scripps, Ms. Harvey was the Senior Director of Strategic Communications, Director, Institute Marketing at the California Institute of Technology (2011-14), the Director of Communications at the Pasadena Unified School District (2008-11), Director of Communications, Director of External Affairs at the Los Angeles Unified School District (2006-07), Assistant City Manager for the city of Southgate (2005-06), and Assistant Deputy Mayor, Government Affairs Manager in the Office of the Mayor, City of Los Angeles (2001-05)

    Ms. Harvey earned her B.A. in sociology from University of California, Los Angeles, and an M.S. in public policy from the University of Southern California.

     

     

    OVIDIA LIM-RAJARAM

    Ovidia Lim-Rajaram

    Chief Communications Officer, National University of Singapore
    3-year term

    Ovidia Lim-Rajaram has served as Chief Communications Officer at the National University of Singapore since January 2016. She has held roles as Deputy Director, Office of Corporate Relations (2004-08), Director, Office of Corporate Relations (2008-12), and Senior Director, Office of Corporate Relations (2013-14) at the university. Prior to joining the National University of Singapore, Ovidia was a Lecturer at Nanyang Polytechnic (1997-04), worked as a TV Producer at MediaCorp Pte Ltd (1996-97), and was a Journalist for Government Affairs with Singapore Press Holdings (1990-95). Ovidia graduated from NUS in political science and history, and holds an MA in International Communication from Macquarie University. 

     

     

    ANGEL PEREZ

    Angel Perez

    CEO, National Association for College Admission Counseling
    3-Year Term

    Dr. Angel B. Pérez is CEO of the National Association for College Admission Counseling, a position he’s held since July 2020. He was VP for Enrollment and Student Success (2015-20) at Trinity College – Hartford. From 2007-2015, he was Vice President and Dean of Admissions and Financial Aid at Pitzer College. Dr. Pérez's passion for teaching led him to serve as a faculty member at Trinity’s Educational Studies Department, UCLA’s College Counseling Certification Program, and the Harvard Graduate School of Education. In addition, he was a visiting international faculty member at Rikkyo University in Japan. He has served as a Trustee at the Berkshire School (MA), United World College in Costa Rica, Hartford Youth Scholars (CT), Tuition Exchange (DC), and was elected the youngest Chair of Diversity in the history of Skidmore College’s alumni association.  He currently serves as a steering committee member for the Washington Higher Education Secretariat. He holds a B.S. from Skidmore College, an M.A. from Columbia University, a PhD from Claremont Graduate University, and a Teaching Certification in Higher Education Pedagogy from the Derek Bok Center for Teaching and Learning at Harvard University.

     

     

    HELEN PIKE

    Helen Pike

    Master, Magdalen College School, Oxford
    3-year term

    Ms. Helen Pike was appointed as Master of Magdalen College School, Oxford in September 2016. Ms Pike enjoyed notable successes as Head of South Hampstead High School, London (2013-16) where she oversaw a two-year £35 million major building project. Helen was named as one of the ‘Ten Heads to Watch’ by The Good Schools Guide in June 2014. 

    Helen has a MA, Modern History from Christ Church, Oxford, a MA, European History from the University of Michigan, and a MA, Fiction from Birkbeck, University of London. After lecturing in Michigan and at the University of Warwick in England, Helen went on to teach at several leading independent schools: Westminster School (1998), City of London School for Boys (1998-2003), St Paul’s Boys, Barnes (Head of Politics, 2003-2009) and The Royal Grammar School, Guildford (Director of Studies, 2009-13). Helen writes historical and political fiction and is a regular contributor to various newspapers and journals.
