More U.S. Tax Reform Details to Be Released Next Week

U.S. House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Kevin Brady (R-TX) has announced that Republican leaders will release additional details regarding their tax reform plan the week of Sept. 25, 2017. It is unclear whether this new plan will include information on how charitable giving and the charitable deduction will be treated.

Trump Administration Announces Decision to End DACA in Six Months

On Sept. 5, 2017, U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced the Trump administration’s decision to end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program. The administration has given the program a six-month window before completely ending it to allow Congress time to consider a legislative solution.

District VI

  • The deadline to submit District VI institutional awards and service awards is less than two weeks away.
    • CASE VI Institutional Awards showcase best practices in alumni relations, fundraising, public/government relations, advancement services, special events and outstanding communications. All entries are due Sept. 30, 2017, and must have been created between July 1, 2016, and Sept. 30, 2017.
    • CASE VI Service Awards honor outstanding individual achievement across the district. Nominate colleagues, donors, and volunteers for their dedication to your institution or to CASE District VI. Nominations are due by Sept. 30, 2017.
  • CASE VI scholarships assist people interested in attending the CASE VI conference. The scholarship program includes awards for advancing diversity, emerging students and new professionals. Applications must be received by Oct. 23, 2017.

District VII

  • District VII opens its awards submission and nomination process on Oct. 2, 2017. Do you know a rising star or someone who should be honored with a CEO or Tribute Award? Nominate here.
  • Connect West 2018, the District VII conference at the Hyatt Embarcadero San Francisco, is now open for registration. The complete program will be available online on Oct. 2, 2017.

District VIII

  • The 2018 CASE District VIII Conference is scheduled for February 7-9, 2018. The call for proposals deadline is Oct. 13, 2017. Early-bird conference registration will open Nov. 6, 2017.
  • Don't forget to submit your entries for the District VIII Communications Awards. Entries are due Oct. 31, 2017.
