House Ways and Means Committee Expected to Take Up Tax Reform This Fall

CASE District News

District I

Registration for the CASE District I 2014 conference opens this month. Don't miss the premier networking and career development event for education professionals working in development, alumni relations and communications. The 2014 conference is being held Jan. 29-31 in Boston at the Copley Westin. Visit the District I conference website for more information.


District III

Apply today for a $500 scholarship for the CASE District III annual conference. Registration is now open for one-day workshops in Kentucky and Georgia and the Make Waves conference in Orlando, Fla.


District IV

District IV is holding a regional workshop on social media, accepting nominations for 2014 awards and accolades programs and providing scholarships to the annual conference. 

Colleagues from around the district will meet Sept. 24-25 for an in-depth look at social media in the advancement profession. Be sure to check the CASE District IV website for more details.

Each year, District IV recognizes professionals who have provided leadership to their institutions, the district and the advancement profession at its annual conference. The deadline for nominations is Nov. 1. Learn more about the awards and nomination requirements on the CASE District IV website.

It's also time to start preparing your outstanding work for entry into the CASE District IV Accolades Program. View the official competition rules and entry criteria for each category.

Lastly, District IV provides scholarships for professionals new to the advancement field to attend the annual conference. The scholarship covers the conference registration fee and $500 toward travel expenses. The deadline to apply for one of the scholarships is Dec. 6. Access the scholarship requirements and application.

District VI

Deadlines for institutional award nominations, conference scholarships and board nominations are fast approaching.

Institutional awards applications are due Sept. 30. Gain recognition for your hard work! Awards are available for special events, fundraising, stewardship, volunteer engagement, alumni relations, student alumni initiatives, advancement services and communications. Visit the District VI website to learn how to apply for these awards.

Scholarship applications are also due Sept. 30. There are up to 12 scholarships available for people interested in attending the District VI conference Jan. 12-14, 2014, in Kansas City, Mo. Learn more about the scholarships.

Lastly, it's time to elect members to the CASE District VI Board of Directors for service beginning July 2014. The following positions will be presented for election by electronic ballot prior to the annual January meeting.

•       Chair- Elect—One-year term that transitions to district chair (two-year term)

•       Treasurer—Two-year term

•       Four Directors—Three-year term

•       Alumni Relations Commission (CASE national)

•       Communications and Marketing Commission

The CASE VI board meets in person once or twice a year for one to two days. Conference calls are often used to conduct district business. Each board member is assigned to committee assignments and other charges as deemed necessary by the district chair. The board develops district policies, conducts district business and provides CASE member services. Board members are part of a very active team and volunteer at least one to three hours per week to conduct district business.
