Walker Introduces Universal Charitable Giving Act

On Oct. 5, Rep. Mark Walker (R-NC) introduced the Universal Charitable Giving Act of 2017 (H.R. 3988), legislation that would allow non-itemizing taxpayers to deduct charitable gifts. The bill would limit the deduction for non-itemizers to one-third of the standard deduction threshold.

CASE has announced the two recipients of its 2017 Service Awards in State Government Relations.

District I

  • Save the date and register for the annual District I annual conference on March 15-16, 2018, with special pre-conference programming on March 14. Register by Friday, Nov. 17, and save $65 with the early-bird registration discount.
  • Five scholarships are available for the District I annual conference. The scholarships cover the cost of a full conference registration as well as relevant pre-conference workshops. Apply today.

District III

  • Register for the District III annual conference by Nov. 15, 2017, to receive the early-bird rate of $425 per person for full conference registration and $145 per person for preconference workshops.
  • District III is now accepting annual conference scholarship applications for the following categories: emerging leader, minority advancement professional, newcomer, and student delegate.
  • Enter the District III awards competition by Nov. 15, 2017. Entries must have been produced or executed between July 1, 2016, and June 30, 2017.
