CASE District News

District II

  • The 2017 District II annual conference made waves in Baltimore, Maryland, with more than 750 attendees. Join District II for the 2018 annual conference Feb. 25-27, 2018, in National Harbor, Maryland, just outside Washington, D.C. 

District III

  • March 31, 2017, is the deadline to submit a proposal to present at the District III annual conference and/or a one-day workshop. Review the guidelines and to submit your proposal.
  • April 7, 2017, is the deadline to order additional District III award certificates. To order, make an online payment. and return this form.

District V

  • The 2017 CASE District V conference committee is looking for advancement leaders to present at the conference Dec. 10-12, 2017, at the Sheraton Grand Hotel in Chicago, Illinois. Proposals, due Monday, April 10, 2017, should fit into one of these tracks:
    • Advancement fundamentals;
    • Critical issues;
    • Key Decision Makers;
    • Professional Development; and
    • Master Session.

District VI

  • Save the date: District VI will hold its next conference will be Jan. 28-30, 2018, in St. Louis, Missouri. Scott Peters from State Technical College of Missouri is the conference chair.
  • Members elected three new directors at-large to the CASE VI board during the annual meeting in December:
    • Steve Brown, president and CEO of the University of South Dakota Foundation;
    • Jessica Elmore, associate director of diversity programs for the Kansas State University Alumni Association; and
    • Jennifer Hollingshead, interim vice chancellor for marketing and communications at the University of Missouri. 
  • Additionally, two others were re-elected to second terms:
    • board secretary Jenne Vanderbout, assistant vice president of alumni and development at University of Central Missouri; and
    • Traci McBee Rowe, director of donor engagement at Metropolitan State University of Denver, to her at-large position.
  • Clayton Melinkovich, associate director of planned giving at the University of Wyoming Foundation, has been appointed to the CASE VI board as awards chairman. He succeeds Lauren Wilcox who accepted an advancement position in another CASE district.
  • The joint CASE V and VI conference in December attracted more than 1,100 advancement professionals from 25 states, two Canadian provinces and the District of Columbia.

District VIII

  • CASE VIII honored its 2017 award winners at the district conference in Seattle, Feb. 3-5, 2017. Congratulations to these district members for exemplary professional achievement:
    • 2017 Leadership Award: Dr. Mary F. T. Spilde, president, Lane Community College
    • 2017 Distinguished Service Award: Lisa Gibert, president and CEO, Clark College Foundation
    • 2017 Virginia Carter Smith Grand Crystal Award: Portland Community College
