New White Paper Reports on Advancement Investments and Returns

The average return on an institution’s investment of $1 in fundraising is $5.99, according to the recently released results of the CASE Advancement Investment Metrics Study, or AIMS. The median return among 120 participating institutions in the United States is $4.86, although individual results ranged widely from $1.03 to $31.39.

Graduates Rank Email as Most Effective Communications Tool

College and university alumni believe email is the most effective way for their alma maters to communicate with them, according to the results of a survey exploring donor motivation as well as the communications and philanthropic preferences of graduates.

CASE, Coalition Partners Ask Obama to Reconsider Charitable Deduction Cap Proposal

In a March 12 letter, CASE and 23 other organizations asked President Barack Obama to reconsider the proposed 28 percent cap on the charitable deduction included in his FY13 budget plan. The coalition also expressed support for the president’s decision to preserve the charitable deduction in his “Buffet Rule” proposal.
