Introducing New Advisory Board Members

CASE has named four advancement professionals to the Center for Community College Advancement Advisory Committee:

  • A. Reginald Best, executive director of development at Henry Ford College (Dearborn, Michigan)
  • Linnie S. Carter, vice president of college advancement and foundation executive director at Harrisburg Area Community College (Harrisburg, Pennsylvania)
  • Judy Sanchez, director of college relations at Maricopa Community College District (Tempe, Arizona)
  • Shelby Wetzel, executive director at Northwest College Foundation (Powell, Wyoming)

The four were selected from among more than 20 nominees for positions vacating in 2015. The committee provides guidance on trends, programs and services for the Center for Community College Advancement. As part of the next meeting in April, committee members will host a feedback session for community colleges at the CASE Conference for Institutionally Related Foundations in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Upcoming Alumni Relations Networking Call

CASE will host an informal networking call for community college alumni relations professionals at 2 p.m., Eastern, on Wednesday, March 25. The free call is open to CASE members and non-members, but registration is required. (If you are not a CASE member, you will need to log in to register. Seeking Webinar Ideas

Submit a session proposal for the 2015-2016 CASE webinar series. CASE encourages sessions that focus on trends, issues, strategies and best practices in advancement. The deadline for submission is March 20, 2015. Those who submit proposals should have direct experience and expertise in the topics they will address and be effective speaking before audiences. Circle of Excellence Awards Deadline Approaching

The deadline for submissions to the CASE Circle of Excellence Awards is Friday, March 13, 2015. Community colleges are encouraged to enter any of the categories, which include marketing, publications, special events, design and fundraising. Three categories, however, are specifically for community colleges: "Community College Alumni Relations," "Community College Magazines" and "Community College Public-Private Partnerships."

Nominate a Professor for National Recognition

CASE is now accepting nominations for the 2015 U.S. Professors of the Year Awards Program, which honors the nation's best undergraduate teachers. The deadline for entries is April 13, 2015.

Upcoming Alumni Relations Workshop in Washington State

On March 25, 2015, CASE District VIII is hosting a workshop on community college alumni relations at Clark College in Vancouver, Washington. This workshop will help community college professionals assess their alumni relations goals and focus on strategies that will help achieve them.
