NCAA Study Reports on Financial Impact of Athletics

A report commissioned by the National Collegiate Athletic Association found that increased spending on major revenue sports, such as men’s football and basketball, does not translate into increased donations from alumni or more successful teams as measured by winning percentages.


Surveys Assess Impact of Charitable IRA Rollover

To help document the value of the new IRA rollover provision to education institutions and make a case for expanding and extending it, CASE is asking chief advancement officers to complete a brief survey about IRA rollover contributions received by their institutions in 2006.

New House Ethics Rules Have Education Exemptions

The House of Representatives passed new ethics rules (PDF) Jan. 4 which would prohibit House members and staff from accepting travel funded by organizations that employ lobbyists.
