U.S. Educational Fundraisers Report Growth in 2014 Giving

Fundraisers at schools, colleges and universities in the United States estimate that donations to their institutions grew 6.9 percent in 2014, according to survey results released by the Council for Advancement and Support of Education. This is the highest estimated growth in donations reported to the CASE Fundraising Index since the year prior to the economic downturn in late 2008.

House Passes Bill Permanently Extending IRA Charitable Rollover

On Feb. 12, the U.S. House of Representatives passed the America Gives More Act of 2015 (H.R. 644), a bill that includes a permanent extension of the IRA Charitable Rollover. The vote was 279-137.


President’s FY16 Budget Plan Incudes Charitable Deduction Cap, Other Provisions Affecting Educational Advancement

President Obama’s FY16 budget plan, released on Feb. 2, includes a number of provisions affecting the charitable sector, including a 28-percent charitable deduction cap.
