Seeking Proposals for District VIII Conference

CASE District VIII seeks community college participation in the 2017 CASE District VIII Conference held Feb. 1-3, 2017, in Seattle. This year's theme is Sounding Out-the notion that through a strategic, thoughtful shared experience, members discover new and innovative ways to advance the impact of education.


• Nominate your college president or chancellor for the 2017 CASE District VIII Leadership Award or an early-career colleague for a Rising Star Award. Due date: Sept. 26.
• Submit your outstanding advancement and communications work for the CASE District VIII Communications Awards. New categories have been added this year, including Best Diversity Program and Best Low-Budget Publication. Due date: Oct. 31.

CASE District VIII is looking for a group of presenters, nominees and entrants who represent the diversity of CASE VIII member institutions-whose perspectives, experiences and accomplishments will enrich and enhance effectiveness across all disciplines, institutions and geographic regions.


CASE Benefactor Award Winners Announced

The CASE Benefactor Award recognizes individuals, foundations or businesses/corporations for outstanding contributions to community colleges. Recipients embody the ideals of philanthropy, leadership and volunteerism in the service of community, technical and junior colleges.

This year's Benefactor Award recipients are:

• Kenneth Baker, benefactor to Montgomery County Community College
• The Bickelhaupts, benefactors to Clinton Community College
• Wayne and Eleanor Chiu, benefactors to Bow Valley College
• Richard and Diana Milock, benefactors to Northwestern Michigan College
• Hap and Marcia Wagner, benefactors to Northampton Community College

Benefactors will be recognized in San Diego at the Conference for Community College Advancement, Oct. 5-7.
