New CASE Webinar Available for Members

Advancement marketing is evolving faster than ever, making it more important for institutions of all sizes to adapt their marketing strategies. A new webinar on the topic is available for CASE members online.

Hosted by Mike Barzacchini, director of marketing services at Harper College, "Location, Automation, BOTs and the (Near) Future of Advancement Marketing," explores five emerging market trends and the opportunities they present for institutions of all sizes to advance their strategic priorities.

Barzacchini has worked in marketing public relations for more than 25 years. He also helped Harper College develop the institution's first branding campaign, and leads the integrated marketing, web and social media initiatives.

The webinar is available for free online for CASE members and for purchase for non-members.

Planning Committee Named for 2018 Conference for Community College Grant Professionals

Cyndi Drummond, director of grant development for Lone Star College in Texas, has been named chair of the 2018 Conference for Community College Grant Professionals planning committee. Nancy Nuell, associate senior vice president of advancement and community engagement for Montgomery College in Maryland, will serve as vice chair.

The conference will take place Nov. 16-17, 2018, in Washington D.C.

Other members of the conference planning team include:

  • Michelle Alexander, Director of Institutional Advancement & Executive Director, Vernon College Foundation, Vernon College, TX
  • Catherine Crary, Grants Manager, Maricopa Community College District, AZ
  • Michael (Mike) Massoglia, Director, Grant Writing and Development, Forsyth Technical Community College, NC

The conference will address the unique public and private grant-related challenges professionals face on a daily basis at community colleges around the nation. The conference is geared toward new and experienced grants development and management professionals, who desire to stay current on key trends and important developments in the field of public and private grants.

March 23 is the deadline to submit proposals for the 2018 Conference for Community College Grants Professionals.

2018 Conference for Community College Advancement Names Vice Chair

Kristen Bennett, vice president of institutional advancement and foundation executive director of  Trinity Valley Community College will serve as vice-chair of the 2018 Conference for Community College Advancement. Bennett has served on the Federal Funding Task Force as a volunteer and team captain in 2016 and 2017, and has presented at the District IV Conference and the Annual Conference for Institutionally Related Foundations.

"It has been a career highlight to lead this committee, and Kristen's excitement and enthusiasm about this committee's important work has rivaled my own. I look forward to working with Kristen and the team over the next few months as we create something truly memorable for our peers across the nation in community college advancement," says Doug Ferguson, chair, 2018 Conference for Community College Advancement. 

"The planning team had a great meeting in beautiful Palm Springs last month. The group is now hard at work to coordinate a robust professional development opportunity for both advancement newcomers and veterans alike. Please keep an eye out for future announcements on all the timely content offered later this year," says Ferguson.

Federal Funding Task Force Wiki Available

The Federal Funding to Two-Year Colleges Report is now available online for CASE members. The Federal Funding Task Force, a group of volunteers who meet annually with Washington, D.C.-based federal agencies about funding programs, produces the report.

The report is organized in a wiki format, and is recurrently updated.
