CASE and CRD Sign Agreement

CASE has signed an agreement with the Council for Resource Development, a 50-year-old non-profit organization serving community colleges, to continue serving CRD members after that organization ceased operations on June 30.

As part of the agreement, CASE will continue the work of the CRD Federal Funding Task Force in 2016, offer a grant-focused conference for community colleges in Washington, D.C. in 2017, and expand CASE programming for community college presidents. CASE also will incorporate certain CRD awards into the CASE awards program. CASE also has created an online networking community for community college grant professionals.

In addition, CASE President Sue Cunningham has named two CRD board members to volunteer leadership positions at CASE.

Dr. Joseph Sopcich, president of Johnson County Community College, will serve a three-year term on the CASE Center for Community College Advancement Advisory Committee, and Rosie Connor, director of Philanthropic Initiatives & Partnerships at Snow College, has been appointed to the planning teams for the 2016 and 2017 CASE Conference for Community College Advancement.

"We salute the accomplishments and proud legacy of CRD, and look forward to welcoming CRD's members and volunteer leaders as CASE continues to advance the vital mission of community colleges," Cunningham said.

New CASE Commission Member

Lisa Gibert, president and CEO of the Clark College Foundation, has been named to a three-year term on the CASE Commission on Philanthropy, which provides advice and counsel to CASE leadership to ensure that CASE programs, products and services reflect current knowledge and emerging trends. Gibert also is a member of the CASE Center for Community College Advancement Advisory Committee and served on the steering committee for the CASE Strategic Plan, and the planning team for the 2014 Conference for Community College Advancement.
