CASE Members Named Aspen Prize Finalists

Seven CASE community college members have been named finalists for the 2017 Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence, which recognizes high achievement and performance among America's community colleges every two years.

The Aspen Prize recognizes institutions for exceptional student outcomes in four areas: student learning, certificate and degree completion, employment and earnings, and high levels of access and success for minority and low-income students. The 10 finalists are narrowed down from 150 eligible community colleges and then awarded recognition based on data and interviews with institution leadership teams.

This year, Broward College in Davie, FL, and Indian River State College in Fort Pierce, FL, were named Finalists with Distinction, and San Jacinto College in Pasadena, TX, was named a Rising Star.

Other 2017 finalists include:

  • Chaffey College, Rancho Cucamonga, CA
  • Northeast Community College, Norfolk, NE
  • Pasadena City College, Pasadena, CA
  • West Kentucky Community and Technical College, Paducah, KY
