9 a.m. - 4 :30 p.m.

We know that young alumni are the future, but we also know how challenging it is to engage and retain the interest of this notoriously fickle and elusive segment of our alumni population. This workshop will explore how we can succeed in the competition for the hearts, minds, time and money of our young alumni.

  • What is our unique value proposition to our young alumni?
  • What does consumer and demographic research tell us about our young alumni?
  • What can we learn from the companies that are massively successful in engaging this demographic?
  • How do we make the case for investment in this demographic, given that they do not represent significant immediate philanthropic returns?
  • What are the indicators of success?
  • To solicit or not to solicit: that is the question
  • What can we learn from best practices of our colleagues?
  • Life stage programming - not just for young alumni
  • Where to invest? career services, mentorship, social
  • Digital engagement vs Personal engagement
