A welcome from the the chair

Rachel Sandison

"Our sector is changing, and the pace of this change brings with it both significant opportunities and threats to our organisations.

A shifting political landscape, funding pressures, increased global competition and disruptive technologies means that more so now than ever universities are looking to marketeers to provide solutions to omnipresent challenges and to influence and inform institutional strategy.

Fortunately, we have CASE!

CASE Marketing Institute brings together expert faculty from varied backgrounds to deliver a programme for new marketeers that will support the critical transition into the sector or profession. Sessions will encompass brand and reputation management, digital communications, evaluation metrics, and emerging trends, showcasing award-winning campaigns and best in class case studies from across the globe, whilst also providing a 101 to the unique world of universities and how to build a career within them.

It's tremendously exciting to welcome a whole new generation of marketeers to the sector and to the CASE family. I am incredibly proud of my network of higher education marketeers who have been a constant source of inspiration and support to me during my 15 year career within the sector. My marketing journey began with CASE. I hope yours will too."

Rachel Sandison, Executive Director, External Relations at the University of Glasgow

What previous delegates said:

  • "The best thing about the institute was the knowledge and openness of the speakers and the opportunity to be open with peers from other universities, with plenty of group discussion and participation. The programme covered a breadth of topics within strategic marketing but it did not feel overwhelming as the main points of focus would be referred back to and consolidated."
  • "Wonderful experience, genuinely impressed at what I've been able to get out of and achieve over the last couple of days. Truly inspiring."
  • "The plenaries themselves are brilliant however for me they are perfect for instigating crucial conversations with your peers. This coupled with networking breaks and Tutor Groups really helps facilitate a paradigm change towards your work!" Elliott Falvert-Martin, Alumni and Database Officer, Wolfson College University of Oxford
  • "It is brilliant. Where else will you get such a high quality range of presenters/thought-leaders, passionate group of delegates, and relatively modest price?"  Robert Fowles, Marketing Officer, University of Derby
  • "I thought the content of the event was great, it was a real eye-opener in terms of what other universities do and how their marketing structures are set up. It enabled me to take a step back from the day-day to think about the wider context of marketing within HE at a strategic level. I left with many things I would like to do differently in the future as a result of attending." Zenna Gay, Marketing Co-ordinator, University of Huddersfield
