Conferences & Training
Welcome from the Chairs

We are delighted to be chairing this year's CASE Europe Legacies Conference.

Featuring frontline fundraisers from education, the arts and the charity sector we will be exploring how to build and maximise a legacy programme which is relevant and innovative.

The tension every office faces as we work to meet current needs at our institutions whilst also ensuring we are securing a future income stream for the next generation demonstrates the centrality a fully functioning legacy programme should play in our work. However, all too often legacy programmes are under-resourced and under-developed.

Join us as we immerse ourselves in the fundamentals of establishing a legacy programme, how they can make an impact and how to influence decision makers when shaping the strategy. We will hear from a legacy pledger about why giving in this way is important to them, as well as what their institution did well when closing this gift and what could have been better.

We will also be the first in the sector to hear from Tate and Marts and Lundy on the findings of an innovative feasibility study they conducted on endowment fundraising in the UK and the potential for legacy programmes to deliver the very largest gifts towards our endowments.

Recognising the fact that legacy gifts in the education sector are frequently of the greatest value we will look creatively at how we steward legacy gifts at the £1m+ level and develop stewardship opportunities designed to ensure pledgers feel valued and connected for the decades following their pledge.

There is no one size fits all approach to fundraising, and when it comes to legacy programmes there is much we can learn from each other. The day will close with a panel discussion on legacy giving strategies; exploring how we can build a culture of practical, creative and innovative approaches for legacy giving to increase your productivity, raise current and future gifts and build an engaged network of pledgers.

See you soon!
