The University of Vermont is located in Burlington, Vt., in a valley on the shores of Lake Champlain between the Adirondack and the Green mountain ranges. Accommodations
You will be staying at the University of Vermont’s newest residence halls, the University Heights Complex. Each attendee will stay in a private room with air conditioning and share a semi-private bathroom and shower facilities. Rooms will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis determined by the date CASE receives registrations. Be sure to let CASE know in advance if you require any special accommodations due to physical limitations.
Residence hall life is very different than hotel life.
Though linens and towels are provided, many amenities are not. Refer to the “What to Bring” list in the Know Before You Register section for a comprehensive list of items you may want to bring with you to Burlington.
Room amenities include:

Sheets, pillow, blanket, towels and bottled water. Rooms will be cleaned twice per week.

Internet connection. You must bring an Ethernet cable with you to connect to the Internet in the residence hall rooms. There is free wireless access in the residence hall lobby and inside the Davis Center (where the institute will take place).

Telephone service. Telephones will be in each room. Dial “9”, then the telephone number, when making local calls. Use a calling card to make long distance calls.

Laundry. Free washers and dryers are located in each residence hall.

Access to additional facilities in the residence halls, bike racks outside the building, vending machines, game room/lounge and a “green” roof.

Residence Hall Main Desk: UVM’s Summer Housing Main Desk will be staffed every day from 7:00 AM–10:00 PM. If you need to speak with someone before 7:00 AM or after 10:00 PM, contact the on-call housing assistant at 802-922-1557.
Coming to Burlington
Check-in to the residence halls will be available on Sunday, August 2 from 10:00 AM–2:00 PM in the University Heights North Complex, 30 University Heights Road.
Registration will begin at 10:00 AM on Sunday at the UVM campus; please plan your travel appropriately. Early check in will not be available.
Travel by plane
If you are planning to travel to Burlington by plane, it is recommended that you fly into the Burlington International Airport (BTV).
You are responsible for your own transportation to and from the airport. A cab ride from the airport is 15 minutes and is reasonably priced at approximately $12. Your drop off location on campus is the University Heights North Residence Hall, located at 30 University Heights Road (signs will direct you.) Taxis will be available outside of the University Heights Residence Halls immediately following the institute from NOON–2:00 PM on Thursday.
Travel by car
If you are planning to travel to Burlington by car, parking will be available on campus at the Gutterson Garage located on the corner of Spear Street and Peg Road. You will need to pick up a parking permit at the University Heights North and South Campus. For directions on how to get to UVM, visit http://www.uvm.edu/about_uvm/visiting/. Travel by Train
The Amtrak train station serving the Greater Burlington area is located at 29 Railroad Ave, Essex Jct., Vt.
Staying in Burlington before Sunday morning or after Thursday afternoon
The residence halls will NOT be available before 10:00 AM Sunday, August 2 or after 2:00 PM, August 6. If you plan on arriving in Burlington earlier than Sunday or leaving after Thursday, you are responsible for arranging your own accommodations. Alternate accommodations are listed in the Know Before You Register section.
