Monitoring Your Online Reputation
How well does your institution’s Wikipedia entry reflect your organization? What are they saying about your college or university on Facebook or CampusDirt.com? What view are bloggers in your community putting out there about your organization? In today’s world, it’s more important than ever to know how your organization is being represented in the online world of blogs, wikis, and social networks. This session will help you understand the importance of monitoring your institution’s online reputation and equip you with some tools and methods to do so.

Elective Sessions (choose one)
- Planning and Implementing a Successful Redesign
(repeated from 4:15 PM on Wednesday)
This session offers tips for ensuring your project succeeds and presents information on what it takes to manage the process. The session aims to answer questions including: How will you gather information and act on the research you conduct? How do you involve your IT department and/or outside vendors? How transparent should your process be and how do you keep stakeholder feedback manageable? How do you roll out your redesigned Web site?
- You've Bought a CMS, Now How Do You Make it Work?
(repeated from 4:15 PM on Wednesday)
We’ve all secretly hoped that a CMS is the answer to all of our content issues. The reality is that a CMS requires just as much management as the content it is designed to manage. Whether you are thinking about getting a CMS, or have one and are wondering if you’re alone in the struggle to manage it (and your content providers), this session helps ease your worried mind. And if you don’t yet have a worried mind, it may help prevent one in the future.
- Benchmarking and Assessing Your Web Strategy
A Web site has a specific purpose and focus. But how does the Web strategy fit into a broader communications, marketing, or public relations strategy? This interactive panel discussion reviews strategies for analyzing Web statistics and benchmarking and assessing the impact of a Web site. Discuss strategies for integrating the Web into broader marketing communications initiatives. Is Google analytics the only answer? What are the common data elements all schools should be tracking? Find out at this session.
