A growing number of nations are turning to private donations as a way to finance higher education, according to a report by the Global Center on Private Financing of Higher Education.

The District V deadline for recognition awards is Sept. 15. The awards cover distinguished service, retirees, newcomer fellowships and professional development. Recipients will be honored at the district conference-"Connecting the Best"-Dec. 9-11 in Chicago. Program planning is under way.
District VI plans to hold its 2008 conference, "The Great Adventure," Jan. 12-15, 2008, in Denver, Colo. Conference and service award information as well as scholarship opportunities are posted on the district's Web site. Visit soon, visit often. New writing categories were added this year for the institutional awards competition, which annually draws about 1,000 entries. Winners are announced at the conference.
Districts VII and VIII registration opens Tuesday, Sept. 4, for "CASE Vegas, High Stakes Advancement," the first joint, international conference of Districts VII and VIII.
The conference will be held Dec. 2-5 at the Mirage Hotel and Casino. Conference highlights include opening keynote Terrell "Terry" Jones, founder of Travelocity.com, and CASE President John Lippincott. The robust, high-energy program focuses on key issues of leadership, ethics and brand management.
