On Sept. 30, the Postal Regulatory Commission denied a United States Postal Service request for significant increases in postal rates, including nonprofit standard and periodical rates. The rate increases would have taken effect on Jan. 2, 2011.

Lastly, the executive committee of the CASE District IV board of directors approved and added two honors to its call for award nominations this fall: the Rising Star Award for new professionals who have two to five years of experience in institutional advancement; and the Milestone Service Awards, which recognize 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 and 35 years of service to the district. The district's call for nominations will be sent to members in late October.
District VI is currently accepting nominations for 2011-2012 board positions. The deadline to submit board nominations is Oct. 22.
