District III is planning its 2008 conference, featuring the theme "Take 5," in Atlanta at the Hyatt Regency, Feb. 17-20, 2008.
District V-"CASE V By Demand" delivers one-day workshops on District V campuses in a new effort to provide targeted programming beyond the scope of the district conference. Upcoming workshops include "Marketing Education as a 'Service,'" June 5, at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Registration is $100 for each conference.
In other news, the district has launched a mentoring program and will host a breakfast in conjunction with the CASE Summit for Advancement Leaders in Chicago from 7:30-8:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 10, at the Chicago Marriott. District VI plans to hold its 2008 conference, "The Great Adventure," Jan. 12-15, 2008, in Denver, Colo.
District VII-The executive committee of the district board is doing something new-conducting campus visits to coincide with regularly scheduled board meetings in district cities. The first trial visits were a hit among institutions in San Diego; Las Vegas is the next target city.
Here's how they work: Committee members schedule appointments with chief advancement officers at CASE member and non-member institutions. With member institutions, they discuss institution needs and how the district can help meet them as well as suggestions for beneficial activities.
