Mount Wachusetts Community College in Gardner, Mass., won the 2012 CASE Circle of Excellence gold award for public relations and community relations projects. The college, the only two-year institution to receive a Circle of Excellence award this year, was recognized for "Catch the Wind at MWCC," a multifaceted communications project developed during the construction and activation of wind turbines on the college's campus.
The CASE InfoCenter recently launched a CASE File that lists community colleges that have received a gift or pledge valued at $10 million or more. The information was compiled from press releases, articles, websites and databases.
There are three days left to apply for a Virginia Carter Smith scholarship. CASE grants up to 20 scholarships annually to cover registration fees at selected CASE conferences.
Eligibility is open to advancement professionals with three or fewer years of experience who are currently working full-time at CASE member institutions. Scholarships are also available to those who have changed advancement disciplines, such as moving from alumni relations to fundraising, in the past three years. Scholarship applications are due on June 15, 2012.
