New Membership Structure Extends CASE Benefits to All Members

Beginning July 1, all professionals working in advancement services, alumni relations, communications, fundraising and marketing at member institutions will have access to all CASE benefits.

"Members spoke, and we listened," says Sue Cunningham, president of CASE. "The new benefits are a direct response to member requests for new and expanded CASE resources."

The current CASE membership structure is institutionally based, using a system of standard and premier-level memberships. Under the new streamlined model, that system will end, and all staff who work at member institutions in advancement services, alumni relations, communications, fundraising and marketing will be included in one membership category. They will have full access to the complete portfolio of CASE products and services, including the following new or expanded offerings:

  • Complimentary CASE online webinars. CASE offers more than 30 online webinars each year on educational fundraising, alumni relations, advancement services, communications and marketing topics. Archived recorded webinars from 2015 and 2014 will also be available to all CASE members. Currently, CASE charges a $215 registration fee per webinar.
  • Digital subscription to CURRENTS. This award-winning publication addresses trends and best practices in advancement services, alumni relations, communications, fundraising and marketing at educational institutions. Previously a premier-level benefit, the magazine will be available to all members through its digital version. Print copies of CURRENTS will also be included in the new membership structure.
  • Access to the CASE Information Center. The InfoCenter, staffed by a team of professional librarians, provides targeted resources on topics related to all areas of advancement. Currently, access to the InfoCenter is limited to premier-level members.
  • Membership in the CASE Affiliated Student Advancement Program. This organization of student advancement programs fosters and enhances student involvement in alumni relations, communications, fundraising, marketing and related areas. The current fee for CASE ASAP is $215 a year.

CASE conducted market research to explore member needs and satisfaction with current CASE member benefits. Results of the research consistently indicated that members see great value in the new membership package, which they said is inclusive, simple, beneficial and streamlined.

The membership benefits and dues change will affect renewing members on the anniversary of their membership renewal, but as of July 1, 2016, all members can register their advancement staff to receive CASE benefits and services.
