Description
The degree of success an organization demonstrates in involving volunteers in its fundraising efforts has a direct relationship with the success of this effort. But it is not enough to understand the importance of volunteers in all areas of development. It is in the best interest of all development professionals to learn more about the techniques to be used in recruiting and training volunteers in order for them to be effective fundraisers.
In her book Linda Lysakowski talks about all aspects of volunteer involvement, including:
- Volunteer positions in the capital campaign
- Volunteers in other fundraising roles
- The role of the board in fundraising
- Training and educating volunteers
- Staff and volunteers working together to raise money
