About the Author

Kathleen A. Hanson

Kathleen A. Hanson is the assistant head/vice president for advancement and external affairs at the Baylor School, a day and boarding school of 1,000 students in Chattanooga, Tenn. She is the former director of institutional advancement at the Fessenden School in West Newton, Mass., and Kent Place School in Summit, N.J. A frequent speaker and workshop trainer on advancement issues, Hanson serves as consultant for many National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS) member schools on marketing, management and fundraising. She served as chair of the CASE/NAIS 2005 conference and contributed a chapter on market research to Marketing Independent Schools in the 21st Century (NAIS, 2001).
