Description

Academic leaders are increasingly called upon to be fundraisers, This new book by Penny Hunt will help those who are new to that role or uncomfortable in it.

Hunt, who is well-known for her leadership of CASE's Development for Deans and Academic Leaders conferences, has now written the book on this topic.

This book walks academic leaders through the fundraising process, defines terms and outlines what needs to be done by whom and when. Hunt's guidance is concise yet comprehensive.

Chapters cover the giving cycle, types of giving, cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, communications, campaigns, annual giving, events, corporations and foundations, advisory committees, engaging campus leaders, leadership transitions and more.

Hunt "demystifies the art of fundraising ... and bridges the gap between academic leaders and fundraising professionals," writes CASE President John Lippincott in the foreword. It is an "essential read for both current and aspiring academic leaders."
