The 13th annual analysis of the CASE Survey of Educational Fundraising Campaigns provides valuable details about the size and length of campaigns and the sources and destinations of funds.
New to the Campaign Report 2008: a staffing profile of institutions that participated in the survey. The report analyzes:
the relationship of number of fundraisers to funds raised;
fundraising staff at public and private institutions by size of goal;
major gift staff levels at public and private institutions by campaign size; and
staffing key campaign functions.
Readers will also find a focused look at mega-campaigns. Twenty-eight institutions with goals of $1 billion or higher participated in the survey—the largest such group to have participated.
This edition of the report introduces a new section on campaign metrics, allowing institutions to see campaign dollar goals standardized for different sizes and types of institution. These data will be particularly useful for chief advancement officials seeking to benchmark their campaign size with those of similar institutions.
Although the survey on which this edition of the CASE Campaign Report is based was significantly revamped from past editions, it retained core questions for trending and comparative purposes. The 2008 report gathers data about fundraising campaigns from July 1, 2007, through June 30, 2008.
