About the Authors
Gordy Taylor
Gordon A. "Gordy" Taylor Jr. served as director of Western Illinois University's alumni program for 28 years, retiring in January 2006. Taylor began his career at Western in 1970 as an assistant professor of management and taught until 1978, when he was named director of alumni programs. Following his retirement, he worked on a part-time basis for two years as director of special projects. He received Western's Distinguished Alumni Award in 2011.
Cathy Onion
Cathy Onion has been assistant professor of management and marketing at Western Illinois University since 2000 and a consultant at NPower since 1998. She also served as the university's associate alumni director for 14 years.
