Description

Higher education fundraisers today are well aware of an important fact: Philanthropic efforts are no longer local or even regional-they must now be international.

Across Frontiers: New International Perspectives on Educational Fundraising addresses this new fundraising reality by providing practical, stimulating and thought-provoking advice for fundraisers in the educational sector.

“To thrive in the rapidly changing and complex world of global philanthropy, we as professional fundraisers must go beyond traditional ways of thinking and practice; we need to think hard, to innovate and to actively—and constantly—learn about the forces that are changing the whole landscape of fundraising and philanthropy,” write volume editors John Mc Loughlin and Jane Joo Park.

Across Frontiers taps into expertise from around the world.

  • Dongli Xu and Catherine Yang write about new directions and new frontiers in educational fundraising and philanthropy.
  • Jay Frost discusses research strategies to seek out prospective donors anywhere in the world.
  • Inge T. Reichenbach places global fundraising in the context of a campaign.
  • Luna Sidhu gives insights into running an annual fund and engaging alumni internationally.
  • Donald Kirkwood writes about the challenges and options for creating satellite offices in other countries.
  • Jack Oldham and Tami Kaplan discuss developments and trends in global foundation support.
  • Kathleen W. Buechel takes a look at the changing landscape of corporate philanthropy and how to navigate it.
  • Jim Myers discusses making cross-border gifts work in tax-effective ways. Supplemental material on this topic will be available on the CASE Web site, exclusively for those who have purchased the book.

There is no cookie-cutter approach to fundraising in this new environment. Across Frontiers will help you work and think about your profession in new ways.
