Abilene Christian University Student Alumni AssociationThe Abilene Christian University Student Alumni Association will ask students to sign thank you notes in our campus center on Feb. 28. There will also be a video camera set up nearby so that students can give a quick thank you and say why they are thankful for donations. We have not asked for student donations in the last five years, so this endeavor is a first step in getting a student fund built over the next two years. For information, contact Samantha Adkins. |

Albertus Magnus College Student Alumni AssociationThe Albertus Magnus College Student Alumni Association will host a tag day and social media campaign to educate students about the gifts that the college receives. We want everyone to know that many people contribute to an Albertus education and give students the opportunity to say thank you. We'll be unveiling a new hashtag for Twitter and Instagram. Bradley University AmbassadorsIn support of the university's new logo and the Students Helping Students campaign, the Bradley University Ambassadors are creating a "sign the shield" event for Student Engagement and Philanthropy Day. The Bradley Shield logo will be enlarged and students who make a small donation to this cause will be able to sign the shield logo. This signed logo will be displayed at all school events and functions to show student support of the university. The donations will go towards the Students Helping Students campaign, which allows each student to give back to their own student body and ultimately the university itself. The Cooper Union Student Philanthropy CommitteeThe Cooper Union Student Philanthropy Committee will engage the entire Cooper community in a full day of events designed to strengthen the culture of philanthropy on campus, with the goal of securing donations from 100 percent of the student body. To raise awareness of the importance of giving, student-made profiles of alumni donors will be shared in the school's lobbies, where students will collect gifts from their peers. Students will also encourage their peers to sign and mail student-made thank you postcards to alumni donors, building a stronger connection between the student and alumni communities. All participating students will be entered into a raffle to win Cooper merchandise at the culminating celebration. Dickinson State UniversityThe Dickinson State University Student Ambassadors are preparing for a day of gratitude on Student Engagement and Philanthropy Day. Students will set aside time to write personal thank you notes to donors, specifically recognizing those whose generosity contributed to the recent Student Fitness Center improvements. Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University SAAWhich college will make the most "cents"? ERAU-SAA is going to use Feb. 28 as a philanthropy awareness day. We are asking all students to show their pride and compete against other colleges by hosting penny wars. The college that collects the most pennies will have all of the money donated to their scholarship fund. We will also give out "I Gave to ERAU" stickers to anyone who donates. We're teaming up with the annual giving department to TAG (thank a giver) the offices of all faculty and staff that donated with a "Proud Supporter" decal. |

Georgetown University 1634 SocietyThe 1634 Society will engage students in a campus-wide event designed to educate undergraduate students about the importance of philanthropy to the university. This initiative will be called TAG Day – Thanking Alumni and Friends for Giving. Through this event, we will increase awareness about philanthropy, by educating students about the Campaign for Georgetown, and how alumni gifts benefit every student. The event will engage students in thanking donors through writing thank you cards, as well as through video and social media and by placing poster boards and banners around campus that highlight the spaces, centers, and organizations on our campus that exist thanks to generosity of our donors. Georgia State University Student Alumni AssociationThe Student Alumni Association will conduct a Penny War. There will be four five-gallon water jugs, each assigned to a different organization. The organizations will compete to collect the most pennies—but participants can sabotage the other organizations by placing silver change in their containers. Goucher College Gophers for GoucherStudents will be able to make a video testimonial and give thanks to alumni for their support. Indiana University Purdue University IndianapolisFeb. 28 will be the final day of the JagProud week at IUPUI, the first for the campus. It will focus on the philanthropic efforts and include a scavenger hunt around campus highlighting different gifts that have been given over the years. There will also be a blood drive and a Philanthropy Fair, where all of the student organizations can take time to highlight their particular philanthropic focus. On Feb. 28, there will be an awards ceremony and pack-the-stadium event for IUPUI's basketball game against South Dakota. McMurry University Student FoundationOur organization fundraises all year to give it back to campus, so on Feb. 28 we will hold a student-wide vote for where these funds will go. We have also ordered a large banner that says "Thank You, Donors!" and will have students sign the giant card as they walk by. If a student opts to have their photo taken with a "Thanks to [donor's name] I am ready to [academic activity]" or to write a thank you note to a donor, they will get a T-shirt that says "Thank you, Donors!" We have hired a videographer to create a thank you video that we will send to all donors that submit email addresses after the event. |

Missouri State University REAL BearsMissouri State University is celebrating CASE Student Engagement and Philanthropy Day with a publicity campaign promoting the year-round philanthropy and engagement that MSU students participate in. Student volunteers are also recruiting more students for service projects and organizations. The recently founded Collegiate Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals is actively recruiting students for their organization. The Office of Student Engagement has opportunities for upcoming service and volunteer activities, including the 2013 alternative spring break. REAL Bears, the alumni student ambassador organization, assists the alumni office year-round and is very active in service to the university and community. |

Northeastern University Student Alumni Association and Senior Class Gift DriveMembers of the Class of 2013 Senior Class Gift Drive will highlight and promote the history and importance of student philanthropy at Northeastern. The committee has several events planned during the day. In the morning and afternoon, we will hand out hot chocolate and coffee to fellow students in various locations on campus to promote Philantrophy Phacts. There will be URL/QR codes on each cup with facts about student engagement and philanthropy at Northeastern. Members will use this event to educate students about the importance of charitable giving to Northeastern and promote the Senior Class Gift Drive and Change for Change program. The day will also feature a Catalyst Showcase. Catalyst is our award-winning online fundraising tool, design specifically to help student organizations raise money for projects. The program allows students to designate their gifts directly to their peers’ initiatives. Rhodes University (South Africa)Give5 is a fundraising campaign run by students to raise money from fellow students, for fellow students. R44,133.93 was raised in 2012 and the money went to our annual fund's Pocket Money Fund, which provides R130 for students who are on bursaries (scholarships) but do not have enough money at the end of the month to buy things such as toiletries. Rhodes University students took the call to heart, and every single residence hall participated. R5 coins were asked for and the amount raised was incredible—especially for the smallest university in South Africa. For information, contact Terry McCarthy. |

Rutgers University Student Philanthropy CouncilRutgers University will be hosting Student Engagement and Philanthropy Day on campus this year at the Livingston Student Center. We will provide resources for students that can help them navigate though their academic careers, and prepare them to enter the world as a Rutgers alumni. In addition to providing educational material, we will educate students on the importance philanthropy plays in their educations. The Student Philanthropy Council will facilitate this event and encourage donations on behalf of class gifts to support an Emergency Scholarship Fund or any academic unit they wish to contribute towards. To capture the excitement and encourage contributions, the Student Philanthropy Council will be hosting a photo booth on campus that any student is welcome to use. We will post these photos on Facebook and Twitter throughout the day and encourage students to write messages thanking donors, sharing a message about how Rutgers affects their lives, and sharing the Rutgers spirit.
