CASE ASAP District III

CASE ASAP District 3 Representative

Hello, District 3!

The National Conference for Student Advancement was held in Columbus, Ohio. It was wonderful to have so many student advancement leaders gather to share best practices and programs. Many of you were present and had a part in making the conference a huge success. I would like to give a special thanks to htose who presented sessions and moderated discovery sessions and also congratulate those national award winners from our district. These awards recognize your outstanding achievements and highlight your exemplary programs.

During the conference, several new programs and developments were announced including a new CASE ASAP mission and elevator pitch, new discovery sessions, and a new conference mentor program. I enjoyed meeting many of you and learning about all of the great things you are doing at your schools. I hope that you all benefited and took away ideas that you can implement on your own campuses. If you weren't able to join this year, make plans to attend in 2018 wehn it will be hosted back in District 3 in Louisville, Kentucky (Aug. 2-4, 2018).

I encourage you all to share information about your organization with me. We are always looking for programs to spotlight. Please feel free to reach out to me throughout the year with any questions ad be sure to follow our district social media on Twitter and Instagram (@asapdistrict3).

Finally, this spring I will pass the torch to a new District 3 Representative. This has been an incredibly rewarding experience that offers leadership and networking opportunities, professional development and lasting friendships. If you are interested in more information regarding the District 3 Representative position, please contact me.

Sincerely,

 District 3 Organization Spotlight

The Ram Spirit Walk welcomes new students and celebrates their entrance into the Virginia Commonwealth   University community with a rousing pep rally and a marching band-led parade from New Student Convocation at the Stuart C. Sigel Center to a block party at Monroe Park. Alumni, faculty, staff and current students line the parade route with signs and banners as they cheer for the incoming class. The Ram Spirit Walk, part of VCU's Welcome Week, started in 2008 and is now an annual tradition that draws thousands of university and community members out to celebrate the new class of students.
