Hello District 1!

Black-and-white checkered flags waved proudly in Indianapolis this summer as a number of District 1 members took home International Network Awards. Congratulations to our award winners: Clark University Student Alumni Relations Committee for Outstanding Internal Program; Adam Apicella from the University of Connecticut SAA and Sarah Leahy from Northeastern University SAA for Outstanding Student Leader; and Greg Trudell from Northeastern University SAA for Outstanding Adviser.

We are gearing up for another great year! Our District 1 Conference will take place at Bryant University on Feb. 8–9, 2013. At the conference, we'll award oustanding groups with 2013 CASE ASAP District Awards. I strongly encourage you to nominate your organizations and leaders for awards. The application deadline is Friday, Dec. 7, 2012.

University of Rhode Island SAA members celebrate the organization's 25th Anniversary (2011 District 1 and Network Award Winner for Outstanding Internal Program).

The University of Rhode Island Student Alumni Association celebrated its 25th anniversary last year with a weekend of events that brought together past and present SAA members. Contact Robert Ferrell, adviser, to learn how to implement a successful 25th Anniversary at rferrell@uri.edu.
