Jennifer Golbeck

Jennifer Golbeck

Director, Social Intelligence Lab, and Associate Professor, College of Information Studies, University of Maryland

Jennifer Golbeck is a computer scientist, director of the Social Intelligence Lab, and an associate professor in the College of Information Studies at the University of Maryland, College Park. Her research focuses on analyzing and computing with social media and creating usable privacy and security systems.

She writes for Slate and The Atlantic and frequently appears on NPR, including as a regular guest host for The Kojo Nnamdi Show.

Her TED talk was named one of the most powerful talks of 2014. She received a bachelor's degree in economics, a bachelor's of science degree, a master's degree in computer science at the University of Chicago, and a doctorate degree in computer science from the University of Maryland, College Park.     

  


Scott Zoldi

Scott Zoldi

Chief Analytics Officer, FICO

Scott Zoldi is chief analytics officer at FICO, responsible for the analytic development of FICO's product and technology solutions, including the FICOTM Falcon® Fraud Manager product which protects about two thirds of the world's payment card transactions from fraud.

While at FICO, Zoldi has been responsible for authoring 79 analytic patents with 38 patents granted and 41 in process. He is actively involved in the development of new analytic products utilizing Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning technologies, many of which leverage new streaming artificial intelligence innovations such as adaptive analytics, collaborative profiling, deep learning and self-learning models. He is most recently focused on the applications of streaming self-learning analytics for real-time detection of Cyber Security attack and Money Laundering.

Zoldi serves on two boards of directors including Tech San Diego and Cyber Center of Excellence. He received his doctorate in theoretical physics from Duke University.

CEO, Black Swan Group, and Author, Never Split the Difference: Negotiating as if Your Life Depended On It

CEO, author, negotiation expert Chris Voss is CEO of the Black Swan Group and author of the national best-seller, Never Split the Difference: Negotiating as If Your Life Depended On It, which was named one of the seven best books on negotiation.

A 24-year veteran of the FBI, Voss retired as the lead international kidnapping negotiator. Drawing on his experience in high-stakes negotiations, his company specializes in solving business communication problems using hostage negotiation solutions. Their negotiation methodology focuses on discovering the "Black Swans," small pieces of information that have a huge effect on an outcome. Voss and his team have helped companies secure and close better deals, save money and solve internal communication problems.

He has been featured in TIME, Business Insider, Entrepreneur, Inc., Fast Company, Fortune, The Washington Post, SUCCESS Magazine, and Squawk Box, and has appeared on CNN, ABC News and more.

  


Ashutosh Nandeshwar

Ashutosh Nandeshwar

Assistant Vice President, Relationship Management and Data Sciences, University of Southern California

The author of Tableau Data Visualization Cookbook, Ashutosh Nandeshwar is one of the few analytics professionals in the higher education industry who has developed analytical solutions for all stages of the student life cycle (from recruitment to giving). He enjoys speaking to technical and non-technical audiences about the power of data, as well as ranting about data professionals who chase after "interesting" things.

Nandeshwar received his doctorate and master's degree from West Virginia University and his bachelor's degree from Nagpur University, all in industrial engineering. Currently, he is leading the data science, reporting and relationship management efforts at the University of Southern California.
