Susan Evans is the senior strategist for mStoner where she leads a consulting team that develops comprehensive strategies, solutions and implementations for educational institutions.

Before mStoner, Evans was director of creative services at the College of William & Mary. As a member of the university’s senior strategic communication team, she directed a diverse team of 13 professionals and managed the creative vision, scope, brand and planning for marketing and communications, including the university’s online presence (web, video and social media) and major print publications. Also while at William & Mary, she spent 12 years on the management team of the CIO and nineyears in human resources.

She has presented at national conferences including HighEdWeb, edUi, eduWeb, EDUCAUSE and the American Marketing Association Symposium. Projects she led at William & Mary have earned many industry awards, including three Circle of Excellence Gold Medals from CASE. She has also served as a judge for the CASE Circle of Excellence Awards.

Evans holds a bachelor’s degree in Spanish language and literatures from James Madison University.

Nyleva Corley leads the Digital Content Group in the University Communications portfolio at the University of Texas at Austin. The Digital Content Group oversees the university's central web and social media communications, including web and email content strategy, development and curation; photography and videography strategy, production and consultation; social media engagement and monitoring; and web and social metrics and analysis.

From developing home page features content to advancing social media efforts, Corley is responsible for many areas of the university’s web presence, including the university’s home page. Every day, and especially during times of crisis, the university’s website and social media channels are two of the most critical platforms for quickly disseminating information to the students, parents, faculty, staff and alumni of the university community.

Andrew Gossen is the senior director for social media strategy in Cornell University's Division of Alumni Affairs and Development. He joined Cornell in early 2010 to spearhead the integration of social media and mobile technology into the division's strategic plan.

Previously, Gossen spent eight years at the Alumni Association of Princeton University in a number of diverse roles. He sits on the CASE Commission on Alumni Relations, co-chairs the CASE Task Force on Social Media, and serves on the Advisory Group of Alumni Futures.

He holds a bachelor's degree from Princeton University and a doctorate in social anthropology from Harvard University.

Nicole O’Connell is the director of marketing and communications at Loyola University Chicago, where she is responsible for driving enrollment through the development of strategic integrated marketing and communications campaigns.  Loyola’s annual enrollment goals total over 4,000 which are inclusive of undergraduate, graduate and the adult degree completion markets.  She has extensive experience in cross-channel and digital marketing and with current focus on mobilizing university platforms to capture growing market trends in mobile communications.

Her recent initiatives include a significant brand revision for undergraduate enrollment, the launch of a new undergraduate website, the rollout of a multitiered social media and mobile marketing platform and implementation of a comprehensive SEO content strategy.  A data-driven marketer, O'Connell is committed to executing the digital agenda with use of analytics to develop informed marketing strategy and integrate new media.
Previous to Loyola, she honed her extensive marketing, development and higher education expertise at The Rotary Foundation, Marquette University, and Westwood Colleges.

O'Connell holds a bachelor's degree in economics from Marquette University.

Patrick Powers is a project manager for mStoner where he works on a consulting team that develops comprehensive strategies, solutions and implementations for educational institutions.

Previously, he served as director of digital marketing and communications at Webster University. In 7+ years at Webster, he provided university leadership for the development and implementation of integrated marketing and communications strategies designed to attract students and enhance the university's reputation, specifically through the web and new media.

His background includes more than 12 years in the marketing and communications field with experience as a reporter, writer, editor, web developer and community manager. Areas of expertise include digital strategy, planning, implementation and measurement. He is a nationally recognized expert in the use of social media in higher education, quoted on the topic in The Chronicle of Higher Education, the Washington Post, University Business and the St. Louis-Post Dispatch.

He has presented at national conferences including CASE Social Media and Community, AMA Symposium on Higher Education, Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP), and College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Projects he led at Webster earned many industry awards, including two CASE Circle of Excellence awards for "Best Use of Social Media."

Powers holds a master's degree in business administration from Webster University, a master's degree in public affairs reporting from the University of Illinois Springfield and a bachelor's degree in communications and political science from Saint Louis University.

Bill Hayward leads Slover Linett's work for colleges and universities. A veteran research and assessment professional in higher education, he is responsible for developing institution-specific, consortium and association studies that create new knowledge about the full lifecycle of education constituents, from prospects and admits to current students, alumni and donors. He oversees a broad portfolio of quantitative and qualitative research projects, including branding and social media studies, student life and student services evaluations, alumni engagement research, and (in collaboration with Slover Linett research fellow Rachelle L. Brooks) student outcomes assessment.

Hayward joined the firm in 2009 with more than twenty years of experience in higher education research and assessment, including more than a decade as director of analytical studies and head of the Office of Institutional Research at Northwestern University. While at Northwestern, he designed and oversaw a wide range of student and alumni surveys to guide planning and decision-making across the administration. He also helped organize and manage several national consortium research projects, serving in leadership roles for the Association of American Universities Data Exchange (AAUDE) and its national benchmarking survey of undergraduate alumni and graduating seniors.

An active member of the Association for Institutional Research (AIR) and the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE), he presents regularly at conferences on the planning, interpretation and use of research in higher ed. He has guest lectured in several higher education administration programs on assessment and institutional research.

Hayward earned a master's degree in demography from the University of Wisconsin and holds a bachelor's degree from Indiana University. His interest in survey research dates back to his undergraduate days, when he was involved in a major study of gentrification in Indianapolis and began learning the principles of questionnaire design, sampling, and data analysis "in the field."

During 30 years as a communicator and consultant, Michael Stoner, the president of mStoner, has served more than 250 education institutions, nonprofits and businesses on four continents. He is recognized as an authority on how institutions can use the Internet and the web to communicate effectively with their constituents and how they can engage effectively using social media. A pioneer in ecommunications, he published his first email newsletter in the early 1990s and completed his first university website project in 1995.
