Structure of the course
The Spring Institute in Educational Fundraising is intensive and hard work, but the atmosphere is upbeat, inspiring and fun.

We take an action-oriented approach to give you a clear sense of what your job entails and a network of supportive contacts to help you deliver.

The training is provided through a combination of Plenary, Tutorial, and Elective Sessions:

attending a session

Plenary Sessions
Here, all participants come together to hear about the following key elements of fundraising:

  • Annual Giving
  • Major Gifts
  • Campaigns and Special Projects
  • Ethics

Tutorial Sessions

  • Meet with your tutor and a group of colleagues on a daily basis to reflect on the experience as you go.
  • Further your understanding of what you have learnt and put your questions to your tutor.
  • Towards the end of the week, tutorial groups will work on a practical group project, the presentation of which will form the culmination of the course.

Elective Sessions
The series of Electives, taught throughout the course by the Faculty, relate to and amplify the Plenary topics. Each day you can choose which of the topics listed below are most appropriate for you and your institution.
