Publications Forum: A - Z of magazines
June 9, 2011
DeVere Venues, Holborn Bars
London, United Kingdom
What makes a really good magazine? How do you juggle what your institution wants with what your readers want - and how do you measure whether you've been successful? Can you reach different audiences with one publication and still engage and stimulate your readers? Is moving online a wise budget choice? And what is the secret of a commissioning good writers and design? How can you write 'good' copy and keep readers interested?
This year's publications forum, aimed at communications, marketing, alumni and development professionals, will remind you of the principles and good practice behind producing a great magazine. It's a chance to re-think some issues, share skills and think professionally about the role of the magazine in your communications. The forum will also address the issue of how we maintain the value of printed communications when the whole world is going online.
Chaired by Susie Baker, communications director, Oxford Brookes University and Morven Knowles, alumni relations communications and benefits manager, University of Cambridge.
